Title
Resolution relative to the application, acceptance, and expenditure of a $30,000 grant from the Brico Fund to the Environmental Collaboration Office for the Climate and Equity Plan Community Engagement Strategy.

Analysis
The City of Milwaukee established a City-County Task Force on Climate and Economic Equity to make recommendations on how to reduce community-wide net greenhouse gas emissions by at least 45% by the year 2030 and achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 or sooner, and mitigate racial and income inequity through green jobs. The Task Force is currently developing a Climate and Equity Plan through a public process to meet this charge, with project management provided by the City’s Environmental Collaboration Office. This $30,000 grant will allow for a more robust community engagement strategy to raise awareness about the planning process, solicit general citizen input, and fund a climate vulnerability document for Milwaukee.
