Minutes note: The Fire and Police Commission Compliance Auditor John McNally, provided a brief overview regarding this item. "The changes are in recognition of the pandemic. Their essentially allowing members to use accrued absence time as well as Family Medical Leave of Absence (FMLA) time, not only to care for themselves if they become ill, but also their families". Acting Chief Michael J. Brunson clarified that this Standard Operating Procedure only allows civilian members to do so.
