Title

A substitute ordinance to further amend the 2020 rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service.

 

Analysis

This substitute ordinance changes the rates of pay in the following departments:

Health Department, Department of Public Works (Sewer Maintenance Fund)

 

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

 

Part 1.  Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 190613 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 23, 2020 - November 1, 2020):

 

Under Pay Range 1BX, add footnote designations “(3)” and “(6)” to the titles of “Sewer Maintenance Program Manager” and “Sewer Operations Supervisor”.

 

Part 2.  Part 1, Section 2 of ordinance File Number 190613 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 23, 2020 - November 1, 2020):

 

Under Pay Range 2HN, add the title of “Laboratory Quality Assurance Specialist (12) (25)”.

 

Under Pay Range 2JN, add the title of “Bioinformatician (2) (5)”.

 

Part 3.  Part 1, Section 8 of ordinance File Number 190613 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 23, 2020 - November 1, 2020):

 

Under Pay Range 8GN, delete the title of “Sewer Crew Leader I (2) (5)”.

 

Under Pay Range 8HN, delete the title of “Sewer Crew Leader II”, delete the title of “Sewer Field Investigator (1) (2)”, and delete footnotes “(1)” and “(2)” in their entirety.

 

Under Pay Range 8IN, add the title of “Sewer Field Investigator (4) (8)”.

 

Under Pay Range 8JN, delete the title of “Sewer Examiner II”, add the title of “Sewer Examiner”, and replace the “Wage Rate” and “Resident Wage Incentive” tables to read as follows:

 

                     “Wage Rate:

 

                     Hourly                     21.08                     23.72

                     Biweekly                     1,686.67                     1,897.60

                     Annual                     43,853.42                     49,337.60”

 

                     “Resident Wage Incentive:

 

                     Hourly                     21.72                     24.43

Under Pay Range 8KN, delete the title of “Sewer Repair Crew Leader (5) (10)”, delete footnotes “(5)” and “(10)” in their entirety, and renumber existing footnotes and footnote designations accordingly.

 

Under Pay Range 8LN, add the title of “Sewer Crew Leader (3) (6)”, add footnotes “(3)” and “(6)” to read as follows:

 

“(3)                      Additional 1% incentive for attaining and maintaining a Class A CDL and ad additional 2% for operating assigned heavy equipment.”

 

“(6)                      Additional 1% incentive for attaining and maintaining a Class A CDL and ad additional 2% for operating assigned heavy equipment.”,

 

And renumber existing footnotes and footnote designations accordingly.

 

Under Pay Range 8PN, add the title of “Sewer Repair Crew Leader (4) (8)”.

 

Part 4.  Part 1, Section 9 of ordinance File Number 190613 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 23, 2020 - November 1, 2020):

 

Under Pay Range 9KN, add the title of “Temporary Community Education Assistant (2) (4)”, add footnotes “(2)” and “(4)” to read as follows:

 

“(2)                      Employees to be paid in the following range. Recruitment at any point in range with DER approval.

 

Biweekly                     1,174.24                     1,440.63

Annual                     30,530.24                     37,456.38”

 

“(4)                      Employees to be paid in the following range. Recruitment at any point in range with DER approval.

 

Biweekly                     1,209.47                     1,483.85

Annual                     31,446.22                     38,580.10”,

 

And renumber existing footnotes and footnote designations accordingly.

 

Part 5.  All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

 

Part 6.  The provisions of Parts 1, 2, 3, and 4 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 23, 2020 (November 1, 2020).

 

The provisions of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after its passage and publication.

 

Part 7.  This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
