Title

Substitute resolution endorsing the proposed 2021-2022 City of Milwaukee State Legislative Package.

 

Body

 

Whereas, There are a number of state legislative proposals which are of importance to the City of Milwaukee; and

 

Whereas, These proposals were created as a result of suggestions by city departments, Common Council members and the Mayor; and

 

Whereas, These proposals were reviewed and approved by the Judiciary and Legislative Committee at its meeting of December 7, 2020; and

 

Whereas, The attached list of proposals reflects the action by the Judiciary and Legislation Committee at its December 7, 2020 meeting as the nucleus of the City’s 2021 - 2022 State Legislative Package; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it hereby endorses and adopts the attached State Legislative Proposals and Key Policy Issues, attached to this file as though they were part of this file  as the basis for the 2021-2022 City State Legislative Package, with the understanding that said package may later be expanded or reduced by resolution of the Common Council as need arises; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Division of Intergovernmental Relations be and hereby is directed to seek introduction of these proposals or otherwise seek to accomplish in the 2021-2022 session of the Wisconsin Legislature and to use its best efforts in support of said legislation.
