Substitute resolution to increase grantor share appropriation authority for 2020.

Whereas, The 2020 adopted budget appropriated $94,946,990 for the Special Revenue Fund - Grant and Aid Grantor Share (Non-City) for operating grants (account 0150-9990-R999-GR0002000000); and
Whereas, Grant funding anticipated in 2020 will exceed the current 2020 budget appropriation for operating grants in the Grant and Aid fund, as a result of unanticipated grant funding received through the federal CARES Act and related grants; and
Whereas, additional funding needs to be appropriated in the Grant and Aid fund to support these unanticipated grants; and
Whereas, the City Comptroller and Department of Administration have determined that an additional $125,000,000 in Grant and Aid fund appropriations should be sufficient to cover grant needs in 2020; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that $125,000,000 in additional funds are appropriated to the Special Revenue Fund - Grant and Aid Grantor Share (Non-City) account No. 0150-9990-R999-GR002000000 and the Estimated Revenue/Funding Source; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller be, and hereby is, authorized and directed to establish the necessary accounts and accounting procedures to carry out the intent of this resolution.
