Title
Resolution approving the Land Disposition Report for a vacant lot conveyance to the City of Milwaukee for adjoining green space as part of Witkowiak Park, in the 12th Aldermanic District.
Analysis
This resolution will approve conveyance of a vacant lot owned by the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee to the City of Milwaukee to be part of Witkowiak Park.
Body
Whereas, The Department of City Development has received a request from the Department of Public Works for conveyance of the vacant lot at 1646 South 4th Street (“Property”) from the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee (“RACM”) to the City of Milwaukee for continued green space; and
Whereas, The Redevelopment Authority lot is adjacent to Witkowiak Park, a City of Milwaukee park located at the intersection of South 4th Street and West Mitchell Street; and
Whereas, After several neighborhood meetings with key stakeholders, the MKE Plays Initiative has arrived at a plan to undertake the desired renovations of Witkowiak Park; and
Whereas, On July 16, 2020, RACM held a Public Hearing on the proposed conveyance as required by Wisconsin Statutes; and
Whereas, This resolution will allow RACM to convey said lot according to the conditions outlined in the attached Land Disposition Report; and
Whereas, Pursuant to Wisconsin Statutes and as a condition precedent to the sale, lease or transfer of land, RACM submits herewith a Land Disposition Report, a copy of which is attached to this Common Council File, describing the terms and conditions of the proposed sale; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Land Disposition Report dated July 1, 2020, with respect to the proposed conveyance of the property at 1646 South 4th Street, is approved.
