Title

Resolution approving a license agreement between the City of Milwaukee and Old Saint Mary’s Parish for the property located at 844 North Broadway, in the 4th Aldermanic District.

 

Analysis

This resolution approves a license agreement to allow for the City’s use of a portion of the parking lot owned by Old Saint Mary’s Parish according to the terms and conditions outlined in the license.

 

Body

Whereas, Old Saint Mary’s Parish (“Parish”) owns the real property located at 844 North Broadway; and

 

Whereas, the City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works (“DPW”) has a need for additional parking in the immediate vicinity of the City Hall campus; and

 

Whereas, The Parish’s property includes a parking lot, which the Parish is willing to allow DPW to use; and

 

Whereas, DPW and the Parish have negotiated a license agreement which allows DPW to use the Parish’s parking lot, a copy of which is attached to this Common Council File; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the license agreement with the Old St. Mary’s Parish for the property at 844 North Broadway is approved; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Commissioner of Public Works, or designee, is authorized to execute the license agreement with Old St. Mary’s Parish and any other necessary documents upon final approval of the license by the Common Council; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Attorney's office, in cooperation with the Commissioner of Public Works, is authorized to make such further minor modifications to said lease that are consistent with the intent and purpose of this resolution and which are mutually acceptable to the City Attorney and the Commissioner of Public Works.
