Title

Substitute resolution determining it necessary to make various nonassessable public improvements at various locations and appropriating funds for these purposes with the City engineering cost estimated to be $150,000 for a total estimated cost of these projects being $1,985,000.

Analysis

This resolution authorizes engineering studies on projects which by City Charter are nonassessable.  After design plans and estimates of costs have been prepared, a resolution authorizing construction will be submitted to the Common Council.  The City cost for engineering these projects is estimated to be $150,000 with the total cost estimated to be $1,985,000.

Body

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it is necessary and in the public interest to do the following described improvements according to City specifications:

 

2nd Aldermanic District

 

W. Flagg Ave. - N.91st St. to N. 94th St. (WT410210691) Relaying water main (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 5010 -- $1,000; Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $19,000). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $240,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2021 construction season.

 

W. Swan Cr. - N. 91st St. to N. 93rd St./W.Silver Spring Dr.  (WT410210687)  Relaying water main (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 5010 -- $1,000; Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $19,000). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $240,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2021 construction season.

 

N. 89th St. - W. Thurston Ave. to W. Carmen Ave.  (WT410210686) Relaying water main (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 5010 -- $1,000; Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $19,000). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $265,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2021 construction season.

 

N. 92nd St. - W. Swan Cr. to W. Flagg Ave.  (WT410210688) Relaying water main (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 5010 -- $1,000; Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $24,000). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $300,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2021 construction season.

 

N. 93rd St. - W. Silver Spring Dr./W. Swan Cr. to W. Flagg Ave. (WT410210689)

Relaying water main (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 5010 -- $1,000; Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $29,000). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $400,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2021 construction season.

 

N. 94th St.-W. Silver Spring Dr. to W. Flagg Ave. (WT410210690) Relaying water main (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 5010 -- $1,000; Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $29,000). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $465,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2021 construction season.

 

12th Aldermanic District

 

W. Lincoln Ave. at S. 6th St. and  at S. 16th St. (ST211200136) Install walk, curb and gutter and walk as necessary.  (Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund  -- $5,000).  The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $75,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2020 construction season.

Further Resolved, That all City Departments are authorized to perform engineering, surveys, plan preparation, and determine an estimated cost thereof; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
