Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to accept and fund the Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity - Building and Strengthening Epidemiology, Laboratory and Health Information Systems Capacity Grant from the Department of Health Services, Division of Public Health in the amount of $327,392 with a grantor share of $327,392 (100%). The purpose of the grant is to provide public health testing and consultative services to the DHS/DPH and those local units of government authorized by DHS/DPH.

Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Department of Health Services, Division of Public Health to provide public health testing and consultative services; and

Whereas, The continued operation of this grant program from 08/01/2020 to 07/31/2021 would cost $327,392 comprised of $327,392 (100%) grantor share; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application of this grant from the DHS/DPH is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant parent of the 2020 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the program titled Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity Grant:
