Title

Resolution amending Common Council Resolution File Number 181420 to extend the reporting deadline for the final findings and recommendations of the City-County Carjacking and Reckless Driving Task Force.

 

Analysis

This resolution amends Common Council Resolution File Number 181420, adopted on January 14, 2019, by extending the City-County Carjacking and Reckless Driving Task Force’s deadline for reporting its final findings and recommendations to the Common Council to no later than 18 months from the effective date of this resolution. This resolution also extends the Task Force to continue meeting on a quarterly basis.

 

Body

 

Whereas, The Common Council adopted Resolution File Number 181420 on January 14, 2019, creating a City-County Carjacking and Reckless Driving Task Force; and

 

Whereas, The resolution directed the City-County Carjacking and Reckless Driving Task Force to report its final findings and recommendations to the Common Council no later than seven months from the effective date of the resolution; and

 

Whereas, Extending the Task Force’s reporting deadline will provide sufficient time for the Task Force to thoroughly investigate, analyze, and make recommendations to the Common Council regarding this complex and multi-faceted issue; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that Common Council File Number 181420, adopted January 14, 2019, is amended by replacing the fourth “Further Resolved” clause with the following:

 

“Further Resolved, That the City-County Carjacking and Reckless Driving Task Force shall report its final findings and recommendations to the Common Council no later than 18 months from the effective date of this resolution; and, be it”; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That after reporting its final findings and recommendations, the Task Force shall continue to meet on a quarterly basis to evaluate the progress of implementing the recommendations.
