Analysis

This resolution amends File #081606 to assign the honorary street name, "Dr. Lucy B. Hughes," to the 3000 block of West State Street in the 4th Aldermanic District.

 

Body

Whereas, On June 16, 2009, the Common Council adopted File #081606, assigning the honorary name of “Dr. Lucy B. Hughes,” to the 2-block segment of West State Street between North 29th Street and North 31st Street; and

 

Whereas, The original applicant now requests only the 3000 block of West State Street be assigned the honorary name “Dr. Lucy B. Hughes” so applicant can petition the Common Council through separate application and resolution File #090436 to assign the honorary name of Dr. Lucy Hughes’ husband, Dr. Joe L. Hughes, to the 2900 block of West State Street; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the “Resolved” clause of Resolution File #081606 be amended to read as follows:

 

“Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the honorary name of “Dr. Lucy B. Hughes,” be assigned to the 3000 block of West State Street; and, be it”
