Whereas, The Common Council adopted Resolution File Number 191180 on November 26, 2019, creating a Millennial Task Force; and
Whereas, File Number 191180 requires the Millennial Task Force to submit a report of its findings and recommendations to the Common Council by June 30, 2020; and
Whereas, The Millennial Task Force held its first two meetings on February 28, 2020 and March 12, 2020; and
Whereas, Members of the Millennial Task Force agreed on March 20, 2020 to delay further in-person meetings due to the spread of COVID-19; and
Whereas, On March 23, 2020, the Commissioner of Health issued an Order imposing a city-wide “Stay-at-Home” requirement to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 under the authority of s. 252.03, Wis. Stats.; and
Whereas, On March 24, 2020, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, under the authority of s. 252.02(3) and (6) and at the direction of Governor Tony Evers, issued “Emergency Order #12 Safer at Home Order”; and
Whereas, Extending the Millennial Task Force’s reporting deadline will provide sufficient time for the Task Force to thoroughly research, analyze, and make recommendations to the Common Council regarding the complex and multi-faceted issues it is tasked with studying; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that Common Council File Number 191180 is amended by revising the seventh “Further Resolved” clause as follows:
“Further Resolved, That the Millennial Task Force shall submit a report of its findings and recommendations to the Common Council by [[June 30, 2020]] >>December 31, 2020<<, and shall thereafter be automatically dissolved, unless extended by the Common Council.”
