Title

Resolution urging all levels of government to ensure that benefits granted under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Security Act are shared with all residents, regardless of their immigration status.

Analysis

This resolution urges all levels of government to ensure that benefits granted under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Security Act are shared with all residents, regardless of immigration status.  This resolution also urges the administration of Mayor Tom Barrett to carefully review those resources that might accrue to residents -- whether through the City or not -- and do what it can to help residents overcome obstacles to the receipt of resources.  It also requests the administration to inform the Common Council of any obstacles it discovers that could be reduced or removed as part of a coordinated lobbying effort by the City.

Further Resolved, That Mayor Barrett is requested to keep the Common Council apprised of his administration's efforts in these matters on a regular basis and is urged to inform the Common Council of any obstacles it discovers that could be reduced or removed as part of a coordinated lobbying effort by the City; and be it

Further Resolved, That a copy of this resolution be provided to all members of the City's state and federal legislative delegation.
