Title
Resolution authorizing city-wide sidewalk replacement at various areas and appropriating funds for these purposes with the city construction cost estimated to be $600,000 for a total estimated cost of these projects being $700,000.

Analysis
To provide the necessary authority for sidewalk repairs at various areas. The City cost of these projects approved by this resolution is estimated to be $600,000. The total estimated cost of these projects is $700,000.

Whereas, It is necessary and in the public interest to replace those sidewalk stones which are cracked, broken, out of grade or otherwise a hazard to pedestrians; and

Whereas, It is proposed that sidewalk replacement work be done in the following locations at the indicated cost:

10th and 13th Aldermanic Districts

Area bounded by W. State St., US Highway 175, W. Vliet St. and W. Highland Blvd;(Martin Drive Neighborhood) and area bounded by S. 25th St., W. Ohio Ave., S. 27th St., and W. Morgan Ave. (ST230200161) File Number 191263: Laying concrete walk. Doing all necessary grading pertaining to said work. (Assessable Sidewalk Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $200,000; Nonassessable Sidewalk Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $400,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $700,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2020 construction season.

Resolved, That said Commissioner of Public Works is authorized to proceed with said work in accordance with said report pursuant to Section 66.0704 and any other pertinent sections of the Wisconsin Statutes and in the manner directed by Section 115-42 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the proper departments take such action as is required of them to assess the abutting or adjacent properties and collect such assessment in the manner directed by Section 115-42 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinanc...
