Title

Resolution relating to the acceptance and funding of the 2019 - 2020 National Association of County & City Health Officials; Using Health in All Policies Strategies to Address Lead Poisoning Prevention Grant.

 

Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Health Department to accept and fund the 2019 -2020 Using Health in All Policies Strategies to Address Lead Poisoning Prevention Grant from National Association of County & City Health Officials in the amount of $25,000 provided by the grantor with no city match. The purpose of the grant is to create a lead-safe advisory committee through the support from the Board of Health while also developing a synchronize communications and messaging plan.

 

Body

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the National Association of County & City Health Officials for the 2019 - 2020 Using Health in All Policies Strategies to Address Lead Poisoning Prevention Grant to create a lead-safe advisory committee; and

 

Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 12/01/19 to 07/31/20 would cost $25,000 provided by grantor with no city match and; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the National Association of County & City Health Officials is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

 

1.  Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2019 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the project titled 2019 Using Health in All Policies Strategies to Address Lead Poisoning Prevention Grant:

Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted to the Health Department which is authorized to:

 

1.  Expend from the amount budgeted sums for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date;

 

2.  Expend from the 2019 grant budget funds for specific items of equipment;

 

3.  Expend from the 2019 grant budget funds for training and out-of-town travel by departmental staff;

 

4.  Expend from the 2019 grant budget funds for lead advisory committee meetings and materials; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Common Council directs that the 2019 Positions Ordinance, C.C. File 180629, should be amended as follows:
