Analysis
This resolution appropriates up to $10,000 from the 2019 Economic Development Committee Fund for The Big Serve MKE.
Body
Whereas, The Economic Development Committee Fund Special Purpose Account is to be used to promote the City’s economic development programs and attract new business to the City; and
Whereas, The Big Serve MKE is a weeklong series of community service events intended to be a keystone of the City’s efforts to create an environment where residents can succeed and achieve their life goals; and
Whereas, The focus of The Big Serve MKE is service to the community, with activities, including the Big Clean MKE neighborhood clean-up events, designed to foster quality-of-life improvements, neighborhood pride and community engagement; and
Whereas, Investment in Milwaukee neighborhoods and residents through The Big Serve MKE will in turn burnish Milwaukee’s reputation as an attractive location for economic development and draw new industry to the city; and
Whereas, The Big Serve MKE has been established as an official City event (Common Council File Number 181646); and
Whereas, Up to $10,000 from the 2019 Economic Development Committee Fund will be used for 2019 expenses related to The Big Serve MKE; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that up to $10,000 is appropriated from the 2019 Economic Development Committee Fund Special Purpose Account (0001 1310 S123 006300) for The Big Serve MKE.
