Title:
Resolution relative to acceptance, and funding of a 2019-20 Pedestrian Enforcement grant (Police Department).

Analysis:
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept and fund a Pedestrian Enforcement Overtime grant from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Division of State Patrol, Bureau of Transportation Safety in the amount of $125,000 of which $100,000 is provided by the grantor and $25,000 is being provided by the City as a local match. The purpose of this grant is to reduce the number of pedestrian and bicycle crashes at those locations where there is a history of such violations and accidents.

Body:
Whereas, Under the terms of CFDA #20.600, the City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for a Pedestrian Enforcement grant from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Division of State Patrol, Bureau of Transportation Safety, and

Whereas, The operation of this grant from 10/1/19 to 9/30/20 would cost $125,000 of which $100,000 would be provided by the grantor and $25,000 will be provided by the City as a local match; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, the Police Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, Milwaukee Code Ordnances; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2019 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects, the following amount for the program titled: 2019-2020 Pedestrian Enforcement Grant:

Expend from the amount budgeted for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date.
