Analysis
This substitute resolution amends Common Council File # 180751 relative to Office of Violence Prevention ReCast. The purpose of the grant is to assist high-risk youth and families and promote resilience and equity through implementation of evidence-based violence prevention and community youth engagement programs.
Body
Whereas, Common Council File #180751 authorized the Health Department to accept and fund the Office of Violence Prevention from the Department of Health and Human Services Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration to implement evidence-based violence prevention and community youth engagement programs. This grant provided for a Grantor share total of $1,021,715 comprised of $1,000,000 (99%) grantor share, and a city share of $21,715 (2%).

Whereas, the grantor share for this program is increased by $256,250 with no city match; and the total cost is increased by $256,250;

Whereas, the operation of this grant program from 10.01.2018 to 09.30.2019 would cost $1,277,965 completely funded by the Grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application of this grant from the Department of Health and Human Services Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it

Further Resolved, that the City Comptroller is authorized to commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2018 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Project fund, the following amount for the project titled County Substance Abuse Coalition Grant:
