Title

Resolution setting up funding from the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District(MMSD) for design engineering costs estimated to be $20,000 associated with the relocation of a combined sewer as part of the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District’s Kinnickinnic River Flood Management Project S. 6th Street to S. 16th Street Reach.

 

Analysis

This resolution directs the City of Milwaukee Comptroller to transfer funds and establish project grant chartfield values for the preliminary engineering for this project.  The MMSD Agreement approved in Common Council File 190537 sets forth that MMSD will reimburse the City up to an amount not-to-exceed $2,400,000 for this work. Construction funding will be included in a future resolution.

 

Body

Whereas, the District is undertaking the Kinnickinnic River Flood Management Project to expand the River Channel and replace the existing concrete-lined channel to a more naturalized stream design; and

Whereas, the City desires to cooperate with the District, on the terms and condition in the MMSD Agreement as indicated in Common Council File 190537; and, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City Comptroller is authorized to create within the Capital Grant and Aid Projects Fund the appropriate Project/Grant Chartfield Value for this project, and transfer to this account the amount required under the agreement and City accounting policy, but not to exceed a ten percent increase of the total amounts reserved for the grantor’s share and local share or $5,000, whichever is greater, as follows:

Further Resolved, that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to proceed with design of a Combined Sewer from South 8th Street to South 12th Street along the south bank of the Kinnickinnnic River.
