Substitute resolution determining it necessary to make various nonassessable public improvements at various locations and appropriating funds for these purposes with the City engineering cost estimated to be $99,000 for a total estimated cost of these projects being $4,908,000.

Analysis

This resolution authorizes engineering studies on projects which by City Charter are nonassessable.  After design plans and estimates of costs have been prepared, a resolution authorizing construction will be submitted to the Common Council.  The City cost for engineering these projects is estimated to be $99,000 with the total cost estimated to be $4,908,000.

Body

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it is necessary and in the public interest to do the following described improvements according to City specifications:

 

2nd, 7th and 10th Aldermanic Districts

 

Stormwater Trees at N. 60th St.

N. 60th St. between W. Burleigh St. and W. Capitol Dr. (SM499190017) (Storm Water Quality - Nonassessable Water Quality Projects to meet TMDL Requirements -- $15,000).   The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $1,875,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2020 construction season. 

 

6th Aldermanic District

 

N. Richards St. - E. Keefe Ave. to E. Capitol Dr. (SM495190059)  Relaying storm sewer and Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $20,000).   The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $920,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2020 construction season. 

 

E. Vienna Ave. - N. Holton St. to N. Humboldt Ave. (SM495190060) Relaying storm sewer and Relaying sanitary sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $20,000).   The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $1,028,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2020 construction season. 

 

6th and 15th Aldermanic District

 

N. 14th St. - W. Hadley St. to W. Chambers St. (SM495190057) Relaying combined sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000).   The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $255,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2020 construction season. 

 

7th Aldermanic District

 

N. 40th St. - W. Vienna Ave. to W. Roosevelt Dr. (SM495190058)  Relaying storm sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000).   The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is 155,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2020 construction season. 

 

W. Vienna Ave. - N. 35th St. to 130’ west of N. 35th St.  (SM495190061) Relaying storm sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $10,000).   The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $50,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2020 construction season. 

 

10th Aldermanic District

 

Stormwater Trees on West Burleigh St.

 

W. Burleigh St. between W. Lisbon Ave. and Appleton Ave. (SM499190018) (Storm Water Quality - Nonassessable Water Quality Projects to meet TMDL Requirements -- $10,000).   The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $625,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2020 construction season.

Further Resolved, That all City Departments are authorized to perform engineering, surveys, plan preparation, and determine an estimated cost thereof; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
