Body
Whereas, The plaintiffs, Erwing and Antoinette Jackson, have commenced a lawsuit against the City seeking damages in excess of $100,000.00 for damages sustained to their home on or about September 15, 2016 due to a sewer backup; and
Whereas, A settlement favorable to all parties has been reached; and
Whereas, The City Attorney recommends and the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee deems it expeditious and just to settle this lawsuit; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the proper City officers be and hereby are authorized and directed to issue a City check in the amount of $25,000.00, payable to the order of the Trust Account of Greg Cook Law Offices, S.C., as soon as practicable, said amount to be charged to (DA)636506-0001-1490-2631-S118.
