Title
Substitute resolution approving a Land Disposition Report and authorizing the sale of Redevelopment Authority owned land at the Century City Business Park to Strauss Brands, LLC, in the 7th Aldermanic District.
Analysis
This substitute resolution will permit the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee to convey a portion of 3025 West Hopkins Street to Strauss Brands, LLC according to the conditions in a Land Disposition Report.
Body
Whereas, Strauss Brands, LLC (the “Buyer”) offered to purchase approximately 20 acres of the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee (“Authority”) owned property at 3025 West Hopkins Street (the “Property”) in order to develop a 170,000 square-foot food processing facility; and
Whereas, The Property is part of the Century City Business Park that is being prepared for development by the Authority to promote business growth and job creation in the 30th Street Industrial Corridor; and
Whereas, On September 19, 2019, at an Authority Board hearing, the Authority Board considered the Land Disposition Report, a copy of which is attached to this Common Council file and the Offer to Purchase that the Buyer submitted to the Authority; and
Whereas, The Board authorized the Authority to enter into the Offer to Purchase with the Buyer for the Property, based on that Land Disposition Report, and directed the Authority Executive Director to submit the Land Disposition Report to the Common Council; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that, per Wis. Stat. 66.1333, including 66.1333 (9)(a)1.d., the Common Council approves the Land Disposition Report and the Authority’s conveyance of the Property to the Buyer in accordance with that report and with the Offer approved by the Authority.
