Title

A substitute ordinance relating to the salary of the Chief Investment Officer of the Employes’ Retirement System.

Analysis

This ordinance amends the salary ordinance to create an exception to the prohibition against the salary of any City employee exceeding that of the Mayor. This ordinance further adds a footnote to the position of Chief Investment Officer  authorizing a salary in excess of that of the Mayor’s.

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

 

Part 1. Part 1, Section 0, of ordinance File Number 180628 relative to the rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is amended as follows:

 

The uniform rates of pay of offices and positions in the City service under the control of the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee shall be as follows. In no case shall the salary of any City official exceed that of the Mayor >>, except where so authorized by footnote in this ordinance<< .

 

Part 2. Part 1, Section 1, of ordinance File Number 180628 relative to the rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is amended as follows:

 

Under Pay Range 1NX, re-number footnote designations 4, 5 and 6 as footnote designations 5, 6 and 7 in relation to the titles of “Chief Investment Officer” and “Fire and Police Commission Executive Director”.

 

Under Pay Range 1NX, add footnote designations “(4)” and “(8)” to the title of “Chief Investment Officer” and add footnotes “(4)” under “Wage Rate” and “(8)” under “Resident Wage Incentive” as follows:

 

“(4)” The salary of the Chief Investment Officer in the Employes’ Retirement System is authorized to exceed the salary of the Mayor.

 

“(8)” The salary of the Chief Investment Officer in the Employes’ Retirement System is authorized to exceed the salary of the Mayor.
