Title
Substitute resolution relating to the election of the initial board of Neighborhood Improvement District No. 1, Brewery.
Analysis
This substitute resolution establishes the method of electing members to the initial Neighborhood Improvement District No. 1 Board and the annual meeting date, pursuant to Wisconsin Statutes, for the area generally bounded by West Highland Boulevard to the south, West Winnebago to the north, North 8th Street to east and Interstate 43 to the west.

Whereas, Neighborhood Improvement Districts (“NIDs”) are authorized by Section 66.1109, Wisconsin Statutes; and
Whereas, On October 29, 2008, the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted File No. 080615, which created Neighborhood Improvement District No. 1, Brewery, and approved its first year Operating Plan; and
Whereas, The Brewery neighborhood district is a vital and integral part of the City of Milwaukee (“City”) and the first year Operating Plan speaks to a NID No. 1 Board and an annual meeting at which members of the Board will be elected; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the annual meeting date at which members of the Board will be elected shall be held on August 12, 2009; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Clerk shall publish a Class 2 Notice that will contain the time and place of said annual meeting; and, be it
Further Resolved, That all City officials, departments, boards and commissions are directed to take all actions and provide such assistance, as needed, to carry out the intent and purpose of this resolution regarding the method of electing Board members to NID No. 1.
