Title

Resolution designating the Samuel Weinstock House at 3402 West St. Paul Avenue, as an Historic Site, in the 4th Aldermanic District.

Analysis

This resolution designates the Samuel Weinstock House at 3402 West St. Paul Avenue.

Body

Whereas, The Milwaukee Historic Preservation Ordinance, Section 308-81 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances, as amended, provides that Historic Sites, Structures and Districts may be designated by the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee upon the recommendation of the Historic Preservation Commission; and

 

Whereas, The Historic Preservation Commission recommends that the Samuel Weinstock House at 3402 West St. Paul Avenue be designated as an Historic Site; and

 

Whereas, This Site possesses integrity of location, design, setting, materials, workmanship and association and fulfills the following criterion set forth in Section 308-81(2)(e):

 

e-5. Its embodiment of the distinguishing characteristics of an architectural type or specimen.

 

e-9. Its unique location as a singular physical characteristic, which represents an established and familiar visual feature of a neighborhood, community or of the City of Milwaukee.

 

; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Samuel Weinstock House at 3402 West St. Paul Avenue, and further described as follows:

 

Cont of Merrill’s Park Blks 8 to 12 SE 1/4 SEC 25-7-21 Block 12 Lot 16

 

be designated as a Milwaukee Historic Site. The Preservation Guidelines pursuant to the Historic Designation Study Report, a copy of which is attached to this Common Council File, shall apply to this Site and is adopted by the Common Council as part of this File.
