Resolution increasing the amount that MKE Plays may receive in contributions.

 

Analysis

This resolution increases the amount of contributions the City is authorized to accept for creation, implementation, funding, and authority of the MKE Plays initiative from $2,000,000 to $4,000,000.

 

Body

 

Whereas, On March 3, 2015, the Common Council passed File Number 141658, a resolution relating to the creation, implementation, funding, and authority of the MKE Plays initiative; and

 

Whereas, File Number 141658 authorized the Department of Public Works to accept up to $1,000,000 in contributions to support the MKE Plays initiative; and

 

Whereas, On November 2, 2015, the Common Council passed File Number 150924, a resolution relating to the creation, implementation, funding, and authority of the MKE Plays initiative; and

 

Whereas, File Number 150924 authorized the Department of Public Works to accept up to $2,000,000 in contributions to support the MKE Plays initiative; and

 

Whereas, The amount of contributions anticipated to be accepted by the Department of Public Works may exceed $2,000,000; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that Common Council Resolution File Number 141658, as amended by Resolution File Number 150924, is further amended by replacing the sixth “Further Resolved” clause with the following:

 

“Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to accept up to $4,000,000 in contributions to support the MKE Plays initiative, as provided in the City of Milwaukee Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan, and to expend such funds for these purposes, in accordance with established City policies and procedures; and, be it”.
