This resolution authorizes the City Clerk to expend up to $3,000 from the MKE Community Excellence Fund for the Noyes Park Fourth of July event.
Body
Whereas, The City has allocated $100,000 in funding in 2019 for a new MKE Community Excellence Fund Special Purpose Account; and
Whereas, The purpose of the Fund is to provide resources to support community events that promote peace and violence prevention, with the intention that allocations from the Fund will be matched by contributions from local organizations; and
Whereas, Fourth of July festivities in Noyes Park, sponsored by the Noyes Park Fourth of July Association, will include a flag-raising, parade, ice cream, games and fireworks; and
Whereas, Fourth of July festivities at Noyes Park are intended to be community-building and to bring residents together for a day of family-friendly entertainments and activities; and
Whereas, The Noyes Park Fourth of July Association has raised more than $3,000 in donations in support of the Noyes Park Fourth of July festivities; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City Clerk is authorized to expend up to $3,000 from the MKE Community Excellence Fund Special Purpose Account (0001 1310 S246 006300) for payment or reimbursement of expenses related to the Noyes Park Fourth of July Association’s 2019 Fourth of July event.
