Resolution approving Amendment #2 to contract No. 18-023 with Hero Plumbing, LLC for annual plumbing maintenance services at various housing developments
This amendment will extend the annual plumbing maintenance contract through June 10, 2020 and increase the contract price by an amount not to exceed $360,000 for a total contract amount of $616,701.00. All other terms and conditions of the contract remain in effect, including the rate of $135.00 per hour. Hero Plumbing LLC is both a MBE and a Section 3 Business Concern.

Body
WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee solicited bids by publication of Official Notice No. 57855 on May 18, 2018. Two sealed bids were received and publically opened on May 31, 2018 in compliance with the requirements of local, state, and federal regulations; and
WHEREAS, Hero Plumbing, LLC submitted the low bid of $135.00 per worker, per hour for such work;
WHEREAS, approval of award to Hero Plumbing, LLC was given by the Commissioners on June 6, 2018;
WHEREAS, the increase in hourly cost and needs in plumbing were unforeseen and the contract dollars were quickly expended. The original contract amount was amended to add an additional $100,000 which did not cover the expenses of the year;
WHEREAS, after review by staff of the Authority, it has been determined that it is in the best interests of the Authority to renew the contract for an additional year with an increase in total contract authority by $360,000; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the Commissioners of the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee that Amendment No. 2 of Hero Plumbing, LLC’s Contract No. 18-023 be and hereby is accepted and the contract is amended thereto to for an additional year and a total contract amount not-to-exceed $616,701.00; and, be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the proper officers of the Authority are hereby authorized and directed to properly execute said contract for and on behalf of the Housing Authority; and, be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that any and all acts previously performed, relative thereto, by the Chairman and Secretary-Executive Director be and hereby are approved, ratified, and confirmed in all respects.
