Analysis
This motion approves the name change of the Milwaukee Collegiate Academy, Inc., to Dr. Howard Fuller Collegiate Academy, Inc., as recommended by the Charter School Review Committee, effective the 2019-2020 schoolyear.
Body
Whereas, The board of the Milwaukee Collegiate Academy wishes to change the name of the school to Dr. Howard Fuller Collegiate Academy in honor of Dr. Howard Fuller; and
Whereas, The board of the Milwaukee Collegiate Academy has requested the name change; and
Whereas, The Charter School Review Committee, at its June 5, 2019, meeting, recommended that the Common Council approve the request to change the name of the Milwaukee Collegiate Academy to Dr. Howard Fuller Collegiate Academy; now, therefore,
It is moved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Common Council approves the Charter School Review Committee’s recommendation to change the name of the Milwaukee Collegiate Academy to Dr. Howard Fuller Collegiate Academy, effective the 2019-2020 school year; and
It is further moved, That the proper City officials are directed to execute the charter school contract amendments substantially in the form attached to this file, with such revisions as may be required by the City Attorney.
