Title

Resolution determining it necessary to make various nonassessable public improvements at various locations and appropriating funds for these purposes with the City engineering cost estimated to be $174,000 for a total estimated cost of these projects being $4,810,000.

 

Analysis

This resolution authorizes engineering studies on projects which by City Charter are nonassessable.  After design plans and estimates of costs have been prepared, a resolution authorizing construction will be submitted to the Common Council.  The City cost for engineering these projects is estimated to be $174,000 with the total cost estimated to be $4,810,000.

 

Body

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it is necessary and in the public interest to do the following described improvements according to City specifications:

 

3rd Aldermanic District

 

N. Arlington Pl. - N. Warren Ave. to 130’ +/- north of N. Warren Ave. (SM495190016) Combined sewer lining.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $10,000).  The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $15,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019 construction season. 

 

8th Aldermanic District

 

S. 33rd St. - W. Rogers St. to 400’ +/- south of W. Becher St. (SM494190014) Relaying sanitary sewer.  (Infiltration/Inflow Reduction Fund -- $12,000).   The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $262,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2020 construction season. 

 

8th and 12th District

 

S. 20th St. - W. Cleveland Ave. to a point 730’ +/- south of W. Cleveland Ave.  (SM494190020)  Relaying sanitary sewer.  (Infiltration/Inflow Reduction Fund -- $12,000).   The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $197,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2020 construction season. 

 

S. 20th St. - W. Windlake Ave. to a point 750’ south of W. Cleveland Ave. (SM495190019)  Relaying storm sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000).   The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $280,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2020 construction season. 

 

9th Aldermanic District

 

W. Calumet Rd. - 135’ +/-west of west side of W. Calumet Rd. Bridge to Little Menomonee River (SM499190013)  Relaying storm sewer.  (Nonassessable Storm Water Quality Fund -- $10,000).   The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $45,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2021 construction season. 

 

10th Aldermanic District

 

Area bounded by W. Burleigh St. to W. Wright St. and N. 52nd St. to N. 53rd St. (SM494190017) Sanitary Sewer lining.  Sanitary Sewer Repair.  (Infiltration/Inflow Reduction Fund -- $35,000).   The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $3,135,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2020 construction season. 

 

W. Center St. - N. 52nd St. to N. 53rd St. (SM494190018)  Sanitary Sewer lining. (Infiltration/Inflow Reduction Fund -- $10,000).   The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $38,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2020 construction season. 

 

W. Locust St. - N. 53rd St. to N. 54th St. (SM494190019)  Relaying sanitary sewer.  (Infiltration/Inflow Reduction Fund -- $10,000).   The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $56,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2020 construction season. 

 

N. 52nd St. - W. Center St. to W. Burleigh St. (SM494190015) Sanitary Sewer lining.  (Infiltration/Inflow Reduction Fund -- $12,000).   The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $237,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2020 construction season. 

 

N. 53rd St. - W. Chambers St. to W. Burleigh St. (SM494190016)  Relaying sanitary sewer.  (Infiltration/Inflow Reduction Fund -- $12,000).   The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $162,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2020 construction season. 

 

12th Aldermanic District

 

S. 5th St. - W. Rogers St. to W. Becher St. (SM495190018) Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000).   The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $177,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2020 construction season. 

 

15th Aldermanic District

 

W. State St. --  300’ +/-east of N. 37th St. to N. 37th St. (SM495190017) Relaying combined sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000).   The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $106,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2020 construction season. 

 

Greenfield

 

S. 108th St. at W. Layton Ave. (WT410190008) Water main alteration. Hydrant alteration. (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 5010 -- $2,000; Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $13,000). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $100,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019 construction season.

Further Resolved, That all City Departments are authorized to perform engineering, surveys, plan preparation, and determine an estimated cost thereof; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
