Whereas, Plaintiff Estate of James Franklin Perry, by Representatives Nathaniel Cade and Anglia Garner, filed a lawsuit against the City of Milwaukee and certain employees thereof, and
Whereas, the City has agreed to settle the lawsuit for the amount of $2,300,000.00, and
Whereas, the City Attorney recommends and the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee deems it expeditious and just to pay this claim; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that proper city officers be and hereby are authorized and directed to issue a City check totaling the amount of $2,300,000.00 payable to the order of Gende Law Offices S.C. Client Trust Account, N28 W23000 Roundy Drive, Suite 200, Pewaukee, WI 53072, in full and final payment of any claims raised in the subject lawsuit, upon receipt of a General Release of Claims, approved as to form and execution by the City Attorney; said amount to be charged to Damages and Claims Account-636506 - Fund No. 0001 - Organization 1490 - Program 2631 - Sub Class S118.
