Title

Substitute resolution relative to the acceptance of 2018-19 grant funding available from the Wisconsin Immunization Program through the National Centers for the Immunization and Respiratory Diseases at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

 

Analysis

This grant will allow the Health department to conduct perinatal follow up for hepatitis B positive woman and their infants in the amount of $32,000.  MHD will identify and manage each pregnant hepatitis B positive woman.  In addition, for infants born to hepatitis B positive women.

 

Body

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Wisconsin Immunization Program through the CDC to provide immunizations; and

 

Whereas, The continued operation of this grant program from 07.01.2018 to 06.30.2019 would cost $32,000 and would be provided entirely by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application of this grant from the Wisconsin Immunization Program, CDC is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2018 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Project fund, the following amount for the project titled Immunization Grant:

Create the necessary Special Revenue Fund - Grant and Aid Project/Grant and Project Levels; budget against these Project/Grant values the amount required under the grant agreement; and, be it

 

Establish the necessary City Share Project Values; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted to the Health Department which is authorized to:

 

1.                     Expend from the amount budgeted sums for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date; and

 

2.                     Expend from the 2018 grant budget funds for specific items of equipment; and

 

3.                     Enter into subcontracts and leases as detailed in the grant budget;
