Title

Substitute resolution authorizing the Department of Employee Relations to extend the contract with Froedtert Workforce Health for the City’s comprehensive wellness program and onsite clinic services.

Analysis

This resolution approves an extension of the current contract to provide wellness programing and clinic services for City of Milwaukee employees and spouses. The City’s comprehensive wellness program includes the Health Appraisal, the Healthy Rewards program, the wellness center and traveling wellness center sites, year round coaching services, access to registered dieticians, ongoing educational sessions, disease prevention services and a multitude of other programs including the City’s onsite Workplace Clinic, Injury Prevention Clinic and Froedtert FastCare Clinics.

Body

Whereas, Common Council File Number 170126 authorized a contract extension with Froedtert Workforce Health through December 31, 2019 to provide the City’s Wellness Programming and onsite Clinic services; and

 

Whereas, The City and the Wellness and Prevention Labor Management Committee are satisfied with the services provided by Froedtert Workforce Health and the trusting working relationship they have established with employees and believe a potential vendor switch at this time would have negative effects on the program and lead to significant disruption in offered services; and

 

Whereas, Workforce Health will continue to have a dedicated team of staff assigned to City of Milwaukee employees and understand the unique needs of City members; and

 

Whereas, The contract parameters with Workforce Health will allow for continued flexibility in creating and piloting new programs and strategic expansion to accommodate member need and utilization; and

 

Whereas, Froedtert Workforce Health has agreed that fees will remain unchanged throughout the term of the contract extension for the Wellness Program and FastCare Clinic services with a market rate increase in onsite clinic fees; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Department of Employee Relations is authorized to commence a three year contract extension with Froedtert Workforce Health for the City’s comprehensive wellness program and onsite clinic services through December 31, 2022.
