Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works and Comptroller to execute two State Municipal Agreements with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the installation of geometric, street lighting, and traffic control improvements and to fund preliminary engineering at two locations in various Aldermanic Districts with a total estimated cost of $2,503,118, with an estimated grantor share of $2,252,807, and an estimated City share of $250,311. The total estimated preliminary engineering cost for the two projects is $534,570, with a grantor share of $481,113 and a City share of $53,457. Whereas, Preliminary approval has been requested and received from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, along with two State Municipal Agreements to be executed by the City of Milwaukee, for the installation of geometric and traffic control improvements under the 2020 Highway Safety Improvement Project program; and

Whereas, Two locations including the West National Avenue corridor from South Layton Boulevard to South Cesar Chavez Drive and the intersection of West Hampton Avenue and North 76th Street have been identified for safety improvements due to a high frequency and severity of crashes involving vehicles and pedestrians; and
