Title
Substitute resolution authorizing the application, acceptance and funding of the Port Security Grant from the U. S. Department of Homeland Security through the Community Development Grants Administration on behalf of the Port Authority of the City of Milwaukee.
Analysis
This resolution allows the City of Milwaukee to accept the amount of $766,686 from the U. S. Department of Homeland Security for the Port Security Grant.
Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the U. S. Department of Homeland Security in the amount of $766,686; and

Whereas, The following projects will be covered by this grant:
Project 1: Enhancing Prevention, Protection, Response and Recovery in the amount of $693,627 with a local match of $231,210; Project 2: Marine Domain Awareness in the amount of $67,457 with a local match of $23,144; Project 3: Exercise in the amount of $5,602 with a local match of $1,867; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant from 07/01/2009 through 06/30/2012 would cost $1,022,907 of which $256,221 would be provided by the city and sub-contractors and $766,686 would be provided by the grantor; now therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Community Development Grants Administration shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2009 Special Revenue - Grant and Aid Projects, the following amounts for the project titled: “2009 Port Security Grant Program”:
