Title:
Resolution authorizing acceptance and funding of a 2018/2019 Wisconsin Human Trafficking Task Force grant.

Analysis:
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept a Wisconsin Human Trafficking Task Force grant from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the amount of $36,687.50 with a city share of $-0- and a grantor share of $36,687.50. The purpose of this grant is to fund overtime expenses for two officers whose purpose is to address cases involving sex trafficking and forced labor trafficking, as needed.

Body:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for a Wisconsin Human Trafficking Task Force grant from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI); and

Whereas, The operation of this grant from 10/01/18 to 09/30/19 would cost $36,687.50, of which 100% would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Police Department is authorized to accept this grant without further approval unless its terms change as indicated in Section 304-81, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2018 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the project titled: 18-19 Human Trafficking Task Force Grant:
