Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Department of Public Works - Operations Division (Forestry Section) to accept and expend up to $10,000 in contributions from the Wisconsin Arborist Association to develop career outreach/recruitment resources to promote job opportunities in the urban forestry industry.  

Whereas, Section 304-24 of the City of Milwaukee Code of Ordinances regulates the receipt, appropriation and expenditure of contributions received by the City; and

Whereas, the Wisconsin Arborist Association is a partner with the City in an effort to develop urban forestry career outreach/recruitment resources; now, therefore, be it 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Department of Public Works - Operations Division (Forestry Section) is authorized to accept and expend up to $10,000 in contributions from the Wisconsin Arborist Association to develop career outreach/recruitment resources to promote job opportunities in the urban forestry industry; and, be it

Further Resolved, That upon the receipt and deposit of these funds, the City Comptroller is directed to establish a special purpose account within the Department of Public Works - Operations Division (Forestry Section) budget for the expenditure of the contributions; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is directed to transfer appropriations and estimated revenue from the Contribution Fund-General, account number 0001-2110-0001-D001-006300, and the Estimated Revenue Account for Contributions, account number 0001-2110-0001-009850 to the Department of Public Works-Operations Division (Forestry Section) Special Account 0001-5450-0001-DXXX-006300, and the Department of Public Works-Operations Division (Forestry Section) Estimated Revenue account 0001-5450-0001-009850 for the purposes set forth in this resolution in the amount of $10,000.
