Substitute resolution determining it necessary to make various nonassessable public improvements at various locations and appropriating funds for these purposes with the City engineering cost estimated to be $241,000 for a total estimated cost of these projects being $7,357,000.

Analysis

This resolution authorizes engineering studies on projects which by City Charter are nonassessable.  After design plans and estimates of costs have been prepared, a resolution authorizing construction will be submitted to the Common Council.  The City cost for engineering these projects is estimated to be $241,000 with the total cost estimated to be $7,357,000.

Body

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it is necessary and in the public interest to do the following described improvements according to City specifications:

 

2nd and 5th Aldermanic Districts

 

Area Bounded By - W. Congress St. to W. Villard Ave. to N. 60th St. to N. 91st St.  (SM494180036) Sanitary Sewer lining. (Infiltration/Inflow Reduction Fund -- $20,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $3,133,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019 construction season.

 

3rd Aldermanic District

 

N. Dousman St. - 150’ +/-south of E. Keefe Ave. to E. Keefe Ave. (SM495180086) Relaying combined sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $10,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $53,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019 construction season.

 

3rd and 6th Aldermanic District

 

E. Keefe Ave. - N. Humbolt Blvd. to N. Dousman St. (SM495180087)  Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000).

The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $110,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019 construction season.

N. Fratney St. - E. Vienna Ave. to E. Capitol Dr.  (SM495180091) Sanitary Sewer lining. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $272,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.

 

7th Aldermanic District

 

N. 37th St. - W. Keefe Ave. to W. Nash St.  (SM495180089)  Relaying storm sewer.

(Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $155,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019 construction season.

 

10th Aldermanic District

 

S. 61st St. - 341’ north of W. Main St. to W. Main St.  (SM495180081)  Relaying storm sewer.(Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $10,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $80,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019 construction season.

 

S. 62nd St. -332’ north of W. Adler St.to W. Adler St. (SM495180082) Relaying storm sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $237,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019 construction season.

 

W. Adler St. - S. 62nd St. to a point 160’ west of S. 62nd St.  (SM495180083) Relaying storm sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $10,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $49,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019 construction season.

W. Howard Ave.- N. 68th St. to N. 90th St. Bioswales (SM499180122)  (Storm Water Quality - Nonassessable Water Quality Projects to meet TMDL Requirements -- $15,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $250,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019 construction season.

 

12th Aldermanic District

 

S. 18th St. - W. Becher St. to W. Lincoln Ave. (SM495180084) Relaying combined sewer.(Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $20,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $820,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2020 construction season.

 

W. Grant St. - S. 18th St. to S. 20th St.  (SM495180088) Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $15,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $559,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019 construction season.

 

 

12th, 13th and 14th Aldermanic Districts

 

 

S. 13th St. - south bank of Kinnickinnick River to 200+/- north of W. Montana St.   (SM494180038) Installing new storm sewer. (Infiltration/Inflow Reduction Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $514,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019 construction season.

 

13th Aldermanic District

 

S. Griffin Ave. - E. Bolivar Ave. to E. Van Norman Ave. (SM494180035) (Infiltration/Inflow Reduction Fund -- $12,000).  Relaying sanitary sewer.  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $296,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019 construction season.

 

E. Van Norman Ave. - S. Austin St. to S. Griffin Ave. (SM494180034) (Infiltration/Inflow Reduction Fund -- $12,000).  Relaying sanitary sewer.  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $160,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019 construction season.

 

14th Aldermanic District

 

S. 14th St. - 285’ north of W. Oklahoma Ave. to W. Oklahoma Ave.(SM495180085)  Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $10,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $76,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019 construction season.

 

S. 9th Pl. - south bank of Kinnickinnic River to 500’ +/- north of W. Montana St. (SM494180037)  Installing new storm sewer. (Infiltration/Inflow Reduction Fund -- $12,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $251,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2020 construction season.

 

S. 9th St. - south bank of Kinnickinnic River to W. Cleveland Ave. (SM494180039) Installing new storm sewer. (Infiltration/Inflow Reduction Fund -- $12,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $215,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2020 construction season.

 

W. Dakota St. - S. 11th St. to S. 13th St. (SM499180121) Installing permeable pavers.   (Nonassessable Storm Water Quality Fund -- $10,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $100,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019 construction season.

 

15th Aldermanic District

 

Intersection of W. Garfield Ave. to W. Teutonia Ave. (SM495180090) Combined sewer lining. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $10,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $27,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019 construction season.

Further Resolved, That all City Departments are authorized to perform engineering, surveys, plan preparation, and determine an estimated cost thereof; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
