Analysis
This resolution authorizes City officials to temporary close North 37th Street north of West Fond du Lac Avenue and adjacent to the MPD 7th District parking lot with barricades .
Body
Whereas, The Milwaukee Police Department has requested to expand their parking lot and vacate a portion of North 37th Street; and
Whereas, This expansion would make North 37th Street a dead end south of West Auer Avenue; and
Whereas, A survey of the property owners was conducted, but no consensus was determined; and
Whereas, All property owners south of West Auer Avenue have been notified; and
Whereas, If after six months, no significant opposition is given by the residents; then MPD may request the vacation of the street and permanent closure; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the appropriate City officials are hereby authorized to temporarily close North 37th Street north of W. Fond du Lac Ave.
