Resolution approving an award of contract to Bohmann & Vick Incorporated (Brookfield, WI) for Partial Site Infrastructure at Westlawn Gardens Phase 2 in the amount of $531,200.00

Body
WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee (Authority) solicited competitive sealed bids by publicly advertised Official Notice Number 57856 for extensive site infrastructure, including paving, sewers, water main, etc., during June and July 2018; and
WHEREAS, the aforementioned solicitation was unsuccessful in yielding an acceptable bid; and
WHEREAS, a portion of the work solicited directly affects two current multi-family midrise projects whose construction schedules are at critical junctures, i.e. Victory Manor and Building 2.2; and
WHEREAS, a contractor is required immediately to perform the necessary work associated with Victory Manor and Building 2.2; and
WHEREAS, the delay required to conduct a new formal, publicly advertised solicitation for the necessary work for Victory Manor and Building 2.2 cannot be afforded at this time; and
WHEREAS, the low bidder to the original solicitation, Bohmann & Vick Inc., provided a reasonable price of $531,200.00 for the necessary work for Victory Manor and Building 2.2; and
WHEREAS, Bohmann & Vick Inc. is a reputable, successful, MBE/WBE-certified contractor in Wisconsin that has performed satisfactorily on current and recent contracts with the Authority and can complete the necessary work without delaying the construction schedule; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the Commissioners of the Authority that they hereby authorize and approve accepting the proposal of and entering into a contract with Bohmann & Vick Inc. for partial Site Infrastructure at Westlawn Gardens Phase 2 in the amount of $531,200.00; and, be it
