Title

Substitute resolution approving construction of nonassessable public improvements at various locations and appropriating funds for these purposes with the City construction cost estimated to be $1,245,000 for a total estimated cost of these projects being $1,961,000.

Analysis

This resolution directs the installation and construction of certain public improvements which have been determined to be nonassessable by the Commissioner of Public Works.  The City cost of the projects approved by this resolution is estimated to be $1,245,000.  The total estimated cost of these projects is $1,961,000.

Body

Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted preliminary resolutions determining it necessary and in the public interest to construct nonassessable improvements; and

 

Whereas, Plans, specifications and cost estimates have been prepared for the following described improvements:

 

1st Aldermanic District

 

N. 27th St.-W. Capitol Dr. to W. Roosevelt Dr. (SM499180008)  File Number 180760:  Bioretention Maintainence Contract.  (Storm Water Quality - Nonassessable Water Quality Projects to meet TMDL Requirements -- $5,000 additional funds.) The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $26,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.

 

6th Aldermanic District

 

Humboldt Blvd.   (SM499180118)  Bluff stabilization (Storm Water Quality - Nonassessable Water Quality Projects to meet TMDL Requirements -- $30,000.  The total requested amount for this project is $30,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.

 

N. Port Washington Rd. - W. Hampton Ave. to 150’ north of W. Hampton Ave.  (WT410180015) File Number 180295: Hydrant alteration.  (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $20,000, Additional Funds).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $80,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019 construction season.

Easement 550’ north of W. Auer Ave. - N. 33rd St. to alley west of N. 33rd St.  (SM495170067)  File Number 171095: Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $34,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $44,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.

N. Sherman Blvd. - W. North Ave. to W. Congress St. (SM499180009)  File Number 180760: Bioretention Maintainence Contract.  (Storm Water Quality - Nonassessable Water Quality Projects to meet TMDL Requirements -- $10,000 additional funds.) The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $550,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.

 

10th Aldermanic District

 

N. 60th St. - W. Center St. to W. Locust St. (SM495180012)  File Number 171479:

Relaying sanitary and storm sewers. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $610,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $625,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.

 

12th Aldermanic District

 

W. Walker St. - S. 10th St. to S. 11th St. (SM495180027)  File Number 180030:  Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $72,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $84,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019 construction season.

 

S. 15th Pl. -- W. Washington St. to W. Scott St.  (SM495180022)  File Number 180030: 

Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $92,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $104,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.

 

S. 15th St. - W. National Ave. to W. Walker St. (SM495180023) File Number 180030:

Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $76,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $88,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.

 

14th Aldermanic District

 

S. Logan Ave. - E. Oklahoma Ave. to 200’ south of E. Oklahoma Ave. (SM495180026)  File Number 180030:  Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $69,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $79,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019 construction season.

 

15th Aldermanic District

 

N. 27th St. - W. Brown St. to W. Lloyd St. (SM495180024)  File Number 180030:

Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $126,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $138,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.

 

N. 31st St. - W. Garfield Ave. to W. North Ave. (SM495180019)  File Number 171854: 

Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $101,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $113,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.

 

now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to proceed with said work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
