Title

Analysis

This resolution directs the installation and construction of certain public improvements which have been determined to be nonassessable by the Commissioner of Public Works.  The City cost of the projects approved by this resolution is estimated to be $5,606,000.  The total estimated cost of these projects is $5,961,000.

Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted preliminary resolutions determining it necessary and in the public interest to construct nonassessable improvements; and

 

Whereas, Plans, specifications and cost estimates have been prepared for the following described improvements:

 

3rd Aldermanic District

 

N. Lake Dr. at N. Downer Ave.  (ST211180220) File Number 180399: Install curb push out(s). (Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $40,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $55,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.

N. Cass St. - E. State St. to E. Juneau Ave. (WT410180643) File Number 170019: Relaying water main.  (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 5010 -- $2,000 Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $188,000.)  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $205,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.

 

W. Richardson Pl. - N. 28th St. to N. 29th St.(ST214180102) Install traffic calming speed humps. ( Developer paving fund -- $11,000). The total estimated cost for this project is $11,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.

 

E. St. Paul Ave. (north-side) - N. Broadway St. to N. Water St. (ST211180231) File Number 180399: Replace curb and gutter and sidewalk as necessary.   (Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $40,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $50,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.

N. 92nd St. - W. Center St. to W. Locust St. (WT410160659)  File Number 150118: Relaying water main.  (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 5010 -- $3,000 Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $562,000.)  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $590,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.

Center St. (SM499180117)  File Number 180517: Installing bioswales.  (Storm Water Quality - Nonassessable Water Quality Projects to meet TMDL Requirements -- $190,000.  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $200,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019 construction season.

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to proceed with said work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
