Analysis:
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept a donation of approximately $32,000 from Near West Side Partners to purchase new bicycles and the maintenance of MPD’s existing bicycles.
Body:
Whereas, Section 304-24 of the City of Milwaukee Code of Ordinances regulates the receipt, appropriation, and expenditure of contributions received by the City; and
Whereas, The Near West Side Partners has offered to provide approximately $32,000 to the Milwaukee Police Department for purchase of new bicycles and the maintenance of the Department’s current bicycles; now therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City of Milwaukee Police Department is authorized to accept this donation; and, be it
Further Resolved, That upon receipt and deposit of these funds, the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to establish a special account within the budget for the expenditure of the contribution; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer appropriations and estimated revenue from the Contribution Fund-General, account number 0001-2110-D001-006300, and the Estimated Revenue account for contributions, account number 0001-2110-0001-009850 to the Police Department’s Special Account 0001-3310-0001-DXXX-006300, and the Police Department’s Estimated Revenue account 0001-3310-0001-009850 for the purposes set forth in this resolution in an amount up to $32,000.
