Title

Substitute resolution relative to various legislative bills.

Body

Whereas, The Judiciary and Legislation Committee of the Common Council has recommended the following positions on the bills hereinafter listed and the Common Council being advised of said matters; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, That it hereby opposes the following legislative bills and hereby instructs the Division of  Intergovernmental Relations to appear before the proper committees in opposition to said bills and use its best endeavors in opposition to the same viz:

 

---AB-147 Regulating the amount of a forfeiture for failure to remove snow.

 

---AB-149 The interest rate on delinquent property taxes.

 

---Proposed state ballast water permit requiring commercial ocean-going ships and those transporting cargo between Great Lakes ports to take steps to reduce aquatic invasive species in the ballast water they release into Wisconsin waters.

 

Further Resolved, That it hereby instructs the Division of Intergovernmental Relations to watch and report on the following bill:

 

---AB-89 Prohibiting the Milwaukee Public Schools from imposing residency requirements on teachers.
