This resolution authorizes the Superintendent of the Milwaukee Water Works to accept a gift of up to $2,300 from friends and neighbors of Donna Uehling to cover the cost of purchasing and installing a replacement bench and concrete slab on Milwaukee Water Works property near the North Point Tower.

Whereas, Friends and neighbors of Donna Uehling desire to dedicate a lakefront-area park bench to honor Donna’s Uehling’s passing; and
Whereas, Donna Uehling was a well-loved East Side resident for over 30 years; and
Whereas, Many of Donna Uehling’s friends are life-long residents of the East Side; and
Whereas, The Milwaukee Water Works owns and maintains four park benches on the property near the North Point Tower; and
Whereas, The friends and neighbors of Donna Uehling have asked to cover the cost of one bench and to procure at their expense a cast bronze plaque with a message approved by the Milwaukee Water Works to dedicate the bench to Donna Uehling; and
Whereas, The cost of the one bench, concrete slab and installation totaled $2,300; and
Whereas, The Milwaukee Water Works requests authorization to accept a gift in exchange for dedicating one of the benches; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Water Works Superintendent of Water Works is authorized to accept a gift of up to $2,300 for the purpose of dedicating the bench on the Milwaukee Works property at the North Point Tower.
