Analysis

This resolution directs the installation and construction of certain public improvements which have been determined to be nonassessable by the Commissioner of Public Works.  The City cost of the projects approved by this resolution is estimated to be $864,000.  The total estimated cost of these projects is $941,000.

Body

Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted preliminary resolutions determining it necessary and in the public interest to construct nonassessable improvements; and

 

Whereas, Plans, specifications and cost estimates have been prepared for the following described improvements:

 

2nd Aldermanic District

 

W. Birch Ave. - N. 92nd St. to W. Beckett Ave. (WT410180671) File Number 170019: Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 5010 -- $3,000; Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $237,000.  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $260,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.

 

W. Sheridan Ave. - N. 92nd St. to N. 95th St. (WT410180670) File Number 170019: Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 5010 -- $5,000; Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $265,000.  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $290,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.

 

N. 92nd St. - W. Birch Ave. to W. Silver Spring Dr. (WT410180669) File Number 170019: Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 5010 -- $3,000; Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $192,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $210,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.

 

4th Aldermanic District

 

Alley north of W. Highland Ave. - N. Old World Third St. to 170’ west of N. Old World Third St. (SM495170068) File Number 171592: Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $20,000 additional funds).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $88,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.

 

8th Aldermanic District

 

W. Potawatomi Ci- A Point south of W. Canal St. to W. Canal St. (ST211180214): Concrete pavement construction, install curb and gutter and walk as necessary. (Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $50,000) The project was completed in 2017 and these funds are needed to close out the contract.

 

10th Aldermanic District

 

Various streets (sponsored by the City of Wauwatosa) (ST211180210) File Number 180030: Sealing coating.  (Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $8,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $10,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.

 

11th Aldermanic District

 

S. 69th St.-325’ north of W. Cleveland Ave. to W. Cleveland Ave. (SM494180018) File Number 171095:  Relaying sanitary sewer. (Infiltration/Inflow Reduction Fund -- $81,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $83,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.

 

now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to proceed with said work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
