Title
Resolution amending Common Council File Number 170382, relating to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Principal Forgiven Financial Assistance Agreement for State Fiscal Year 2018.
Analysis
This resolution amends Common Council Resolution File Number 170382, adopted on July 11, 2017, which authorized the proper City officials to execute, on behalf of the City, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Principal Forgiven Financial Assistance Agreement for State Fiscal Year 2018 for up to $1,000,000 under the Safe Drinking Water Loan Program. The Safe Drinking Water Loan Program has determined that it can now provide a loan with principal forgiveness up to $4,250,000.

Whereas, On July 11, 2017, the Common Council adopted Resolution File Number 170382, authorizing execution of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Principal Forgiven Financial Assistance Agreement for State Fiscal Year 2018, relating to a loan to the City to replace private lead service lines under the Safe Drinking Water Loan Program; and
Whereas, The Safe Drinking Water Loan Program initially determined in 2017 that it could provide a loan to the City with principal forgiveness up to $1,000,000 for State Fiscal Year 2018 (LSL Year 2) that it has identified as being eligible for Safe Drinking Water Loan Program funding; and
Whereas, The Safe Drinking Water Loan Program has determined that it can now provide a loan with principal forgiveness up to $4,250,000 for State Fiscal Year 2018 (LSL Year 2) under the Safe Drinking Water Loan Program; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that Common Council Resolution File Number 170382, adopted on July 11, 2017, is amended by deleting the last “Whereas” clause and the “Resolved” clause, and inserting in lieu thereof the following:
“Whereas, The SDWLP has determined that it can provide a loan with principal forgiveness in an amount up to $4,250,000 for State Fiscal Year 2018 (LSL Year 2) that it has identified as being eligible for SDWLP funding; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the proper City officials are authorized by and on behalf of the City to execute the Principal Forgiven Financial Assistance Agreement, up to the amount of $4,250,000 and with such changes as may be recommended by the City Attorney that contains the terms and conditions of the SDWLP award for the Project. The Principal Forgiven Financial Assistance Agreement for State Fiscal Year 2018 is incorporated herein by this reference.”
