Title

Analysis
This resolution permits the City of Milwaukee to execute an easement necessary to facilitate construction of a permanent pigging station.
Body
Whereas, The Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (“MMSD”) is undertaking construction of a permanent pigging station for the landfill gas pipeline that transports by-product from its landfill site to power the Jones Island Wastewater Reclamation Facility in Milwaukee; and

Whereas, MMSD has a gas pipeline located on the City-owned property at 1600 East College Avenue (“Property”) and plans to relocate a pigging station to a site on the south side of College Avenue; and

Whereas, MMSD needs a Temporary Construction Easement and Limited Access Easement (“Easement”) on the Property that will give it access under College Avenue during construction; and

Whereas, Land needed for the Easement is owned by the City of Milwaukee (“City”) and leased to the United States Government for use by the 128th Air National Guard Refueling Wing (“Tenant”); and

Whereas, MMSD presented the City, as the fee owner, with an appraisal and offer to acquire the Easement; and

Whereas, The appraisal has been reviewed by City Real Estate staff and a settlement has been reached with MMSD and the City in the amount of $500; and

Whereas, The Tenant approved the Easement content and will execute a separate Consent Agreement with MMSD; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of the Department of City Development, or designee, is authorized to execute the Easement and other documents necessary to grant the Easement to MMSD and ...
