Title

A substitute ordinance to further amend the 2018 rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service.

Analysis

This substitute ordinance changes the rates of pay in the following departments:

Dept. of Employee Relations, Fire Department, Library, Municipal Court, Dept. of Public Works

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

 

Part 1.  Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 170680 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:

 

Under Pay Range 1BX, add the title “Court Services Supervisor”.

 

Under Pay Range 1DX, add the title “Court Business Manager”.

 

Part 2.  Part 1, Section 2 of ordinance File Number 170680 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 2018 - December 31, 2017):

 

Under Pay Range 2JX, add the title “Early Childhood Program Director (2)”.

 

Part 3.  Part 1, Section 2 of ordinance File Number 170680 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 9, 2018 - April 22, 2018):

 

Under Pay Range 2AN, delete the title “Recycling Assistant (4)” and delete footnote “(4)” in its entirety.

 

Under Pay Range 2FX, delete the title “Business Operations Analyst”, add the title “Sanitation Project Analyst (1)”, and add footnote “(1)” to read:

 

“(1)                     The incumbents of positions in this class, if certified by the Commissioner of Public Works as being, when appropriate, regularly involved in snow and ice control operations which result in an excessive amount of overtime work, to receive 4.8% additional biweekly salary as compensation for such overtime work.”

 

Under Pay Range 2GX, add the title “Business Operations Specialist (11)” and add footnote “(11)” to read:

 

“(11)                     Recruitment at any rate in the pay range with the approval of DER.”

 

Part 4.  Part 1, Section 4 of ordinance File Number 170680 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:

 

Under Pay Range 4RX, delete the title “Assistant Fire Chief (2)(3)” and add the title “Assistant Fire Chief (1)(2)”.

 

Part 5.  Part 1, Section 7 of ordinance File Number 170680 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:

 

Under Pay Range 7HN, add designation “(17)” to the title “Urban Forestry Specialist (13)” and add footnote “(17)” to read:

 

“(17)                     Career Ladder Position.  Up to nine assignments in Core Forestry Operations to be paid an additional 3% biweekly.”

 

Part 6.  All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

 

Part 7.  The provisions of Part 2 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 2018 (December 31, 2017).

 

Part 8.  The provisions of Part 3 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 9, 2018 (April 22, 2018).

 

The provisions of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after its passage and publication.

 

Part 9.  This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
