Analysis
This resolution authorizes payment of the claims and fees of Tasha Thomas-Handy in the amount of $50,000.
Body
Whereas, The claimant, Tasha Thomas-Handy (C.I. File No. 1047-2015-1971 and 1047-2017-1364), through her attorneys, Padway & Padway, Ltd., has filed claims against the City of Milwaukee in two complaints pursuant to the Wisconsin Fair Employment Act, for damages and other claims in relation to the terms and conditions of her prior employment and her discharge; and

Whereas, The claimant has agreed to settle her claims in the amount of $50,000; and

Whereas, The City Attorney recommends and the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee deems it expeditious and just to pay this claim; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the proper city officers be and hereby are authorized and directed to issue a check in the amount of $30,000, payable to Tasha Thomas-Handy, 4102 N. 13th St., Milwaukee, WI 53209, in full and final settlement of her claims, said check to be delivered to the City Attorney upon his request, said amount to be charged to the following account of the Department of Public Works, Account No. 631007, Fund No. 0001, Organization No. 5235, Program No. 0921, Sub Class No. R999; and be it
